Where the world’s most successful go on holiday

Going on holiday as one of the world’s most successful actors, musicians and businessmen is undoubtedly something that comes with a rather large price tag. But once said wealthy gentleman has worked countless 18-hour days, slogging away for months at a time, why shouldn’t they treat themselves with the holiday of a lifetime? And these aren’t the type of gentlemen that are going to have a quick look on lastminute.com and see what comes up – these are the gentlemen who are going to go on a holiday where no expense is spared and where luxury is the name of the game:

St. Barths, Caribbean

What: This French speaking, Caribbean Island is no stranger to the stars and is frequented all year round by the world’s most rich and famous. It’s not cheap to visit St. Barths, with restaurants and hotels costing thousands of pounds per person and waterfront restaurants on New Year’s Eve rumoured to cost almost a £1billion per table.

Who goes: Tom Hanks, Simon Cowell, David Letterman, Mick Jagger.

What: A billionaires playground by way of this incredible Swiss ski resort, Gstaad is one of the most exclusive and expensive holiday destinations in the world. You don’t come to Gstaad on a budget, you come to splash your cash and ski alongside some of the world’s most successful people. It’s said the 6,000 of the world’s richest flood into Gstaad every year, along with 17,000 staff.

Who goes: Valentino Garavani, Roger Moore, Madonna, Roman Polanski.

Lake Como, Italy

What: An upscale resort that sits pretty in the North of Italy, Lake Como is set deep against the rugged, forested foothills of the Alps. This incredible location has been frequented by some of the world’s wealthiest for years, and has now become one of the most sought after holiday destinations in the world.

Who goes: George Clooney, Sir Richard Branson, Donatella Versace, Madonna.

The Maldives, The Tropics

What: The Maldives is a tropical nation that sits bang in the middle of the Indian Ocean. It’s composed of 26 coral atolls, which are made up of hundreds of islands and has to be one of the most desirable destinations in the world. Miles and miles of bright blue sea and intense sunshine make for the perfect getaway for the world’s most successful.

Barbados, Caribbean

What: Barbados is home to some of the most expensive hotels, restaurants and holiday homes in the world – and there are no shortage of incredibly successful and wealthy people that frequent the island. Sandy Lane, in particular, is one of the most exclusive hotels on the island, where rooms can cost upwards of $2,500 a night.
